Taking Back Stockton

Mahatma Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

Mother Teresa said, “The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action.”

These two great humanitarians show how people of different beliefs can be on the same page. Service humbles us. It is the way we can stay grounded and connected.

It’s in this spirit that we invite you to join us in Taking Back Stockton.

Taking Back Stockton combines two passions of Adriana Brogger and Leo Marquez, service and storytelling.

Basically, we gather to provide service as a group and then record a podcast about the experience or collect a story from someone we helped. We hope to help build community on campus and in Stockton with this project.

We will be posting projects here throughout the summer. Feel free to join us when you can. No pressure if you can’t!

Do something in your own neighborhood, in your own backyard or your own family. You can offer a smile to a stranger or go through your closet and donate what you're not wearing to someone who can use it!

Let the random acts of kindness begin and spread throughout Stockton!

History:

Taking Back Stockton was originally started by Leo Marquez in Summer 2018 as a live show to bring more awareness to the growth in the Stockton community. Bringing in guests that contribute in their own way either as an artist, business owner, musician, etc.
